National Testing Agency (NTA) has given the candidates one of the best possible advantages. The engineering candidates who wish to take admission in the NITs, CFTI, and IIITs or even the IITs, have 2 shots to crack the JEE Main exam from now on. You did not do good in January attempt? You have another chance to improve the marks.
The registrations for JEE Main April 2019 is starting from February 08, 2019. The last date to apply is March 07, 2019. The April attempt will be held between 06 – 20, 2019. There will be two papers in the exam – Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan). The paper 2 will have 3 parts, out of which the Part3 (drawing section) will be held in offline mode.
Here are a few reasons that support why you should appear in the JEE Main 2019 April Exam, even if you have scored well in the January Exam.
#1 In the second attempt, there is probability to score more: Since the candidates who have appeared in the January exam have a hold over the exam pattern, type of questions, the difficulty level, the weightage of the subjects in the paper; the chances to perform even better in the April exam increases.
#2 Study Materials Handy: the preparation resources like the question papers and answer keys from the recent exam is available with you. You can utilize the same to prepare for the April exam. It becomes easier to know what to expect out of the second exam as they already have the experience of the January exam.
#3 You know your strength and weakness now: Since you have appeared in the real exam environment you know where you are lacking – Is it speed? Is it accuracy? or is it some other factor. You know it all by now. Thus, you can just work on those points and score even better in the second attempt.
#4 In the April attempt, there will be no major difference: The difficulty level and the exam pattern is not going to change in the second attempt for sure. Therefore the candidates who have attempted the exam in January month can take full advantage of what they have grasped from the first attempt and how can they transform the same into their advantage.
#5 A chance to learn from your mistakes and score better: This is a golden opportunity that the candidates can utilize. They know where they have failed in the first attempt and what had led to any bad score. Also, the candidates who have scored well, they can analyze what can be done to score even better.
Thus, if you have scored really well in the first attempt and are thinking to skip the second attempt – rethink!
There is no harm in taking another attempt, on the other hand, you have the scope of improvement. NTA will take the best score out of both the attempts to prepare the final merit list. Thus, even if you fear to score badly in the second attempt there is no harm. The better score will be taken into consideration.
