JoSAA – Top 20 Percentile Category wise Cutoff of Class 12 Boards for IIT Admission 2019

For the Academic year 2019-20 admissions in to 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) had set (JoSAA) Joint Seat Allocation Authority .
Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through this single platform.

According to Category Wise Top 20 Percentile Cut Off marks for 2019 Class XII issued by JoSAA As per the JEE Advanced notification, the aspiring candidate should secure at least 75% aggregate marks (General Category) and 65% aggregate marks (for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) in their Class XII (or equivalent) or they should be in category-wise top 20-percentile in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board examination candidates need to fulfil either of the two eligibility requirements

Even if you are not among those who are able to score 75% aggregate marks in class 12th examination, you still have the admission opportunity based on top 20 percentile of class 12th board.

· 75% marks is for only CBSE Board
If you are from other board then you should come in top 20 percentile in that board for elligible .

How is the Top 20 Percentile Cutoff of class 12th Boards for IIT Admission calculated?

For calculating top 20 percentile for different class 12th boards, the marks scored in five subjects – (1) Physics, (2) Chemistry, (3) Mathematics, (4) A language and (5) Any subject other than the above four, is taken into account.

Find the following scenarios of percentile calculation

· Scenario 1 : In case a candidate has taken more than 1 languages as the 4th subject in class 12th, then the language with higher marks will be considered.

· If candidates have taken more than one subject (any subject other than the above four) as the 5th subject in class 12th, then also the subject with higher marks will be considered

· If the marks in a subject are not allotted out of 100, then the total marks for a subject will be scaled (up or down) to 100 so that the total aggregate marks are out of 500.

After verifying the challenged answer key, NTA will release the final answer key.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the answer key of the Joint Entrance Main (JEE Main) examinations today, on January 14, 2019 on the official website, Jermain.nic.in. The candidates can directly check the answer key through the official website. Moreover, NTA will declare the result of the JEE Main examinations on January 31, 2019.

Objections against the answer key:

  • The online window to raise the objections will be available for a week after the release of answer keys.
  • After verifying the challenged answer key, NTA will release the final answer key.

Step 3: Enter registration number, roll number
Step 4: Answer key will appear on the screen
Step 5: Download it, and take a print out for further reference

The answer key of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is most likely to be released on Wednesday, January 14, 2019. Whilst the results of the exam on 31 January.

“The JEE Main 2019 examinations was concluded today. It will take four to five days to release the answer key, the NTA is expected to release the answer key of the JEE Main examinations on Wednesday, January 14, 2019,” said DG NTA Vineet Joshi.

Jeemain.nic.in is the official website through which the appeared candidates can check their results.

The online window to raise objections will be available for a week. If wrong, the candidates can check the answer key through the official website. Post verification of the challenged answer, the National Testing agency will release the final answer key.
