Why is JEE important even outside IIT ?

Old scenario

Nowadays pursuing an engineering degree is one of the most preferred and highly paid career options in India. But seeking admission to engineering college isn’t as easy as before. Previously one use to easily get admission to an engineering college on the base of their 12th board exam results. Candidates not getting admission through this will get admission through management quota, reserved seats or last option through paid seats. Through this sort of admission, it became difficult for the engineering colleges to mapped out the real candidates for the engineering degree. It had been realized that the boards aren’t the best form of selection and that we got to have another option for choosing the genuine candidates. So most of the universities came up with their private entrance exam to pick the right candidates, as a result, the number of entrance exams was undertaken from different colleges which increased the confusion and load among the scholars and their parents.

JEE introduced

A requirement for one single exam for engineering was developed. The govt decided to scale back the load for candidates by introducing one exam, the results of this exam are made mandatory to apply in several colleges in India. JEE was introduced as a single entrance examination for engineering colleges.

The Joint Entrance Examination, commonly known as the JEE, is an All-India level examination for getting admission into the undergraduate level courses in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).

JEE is the most vital exam in India for those students who want to pursue an engineering degree after class 12.

JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

The JEE consists of two parts-JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is the first phase which is conducted twice annually within January and April whereas JEE Advanced is conducted once within the month of May. the main motive of both the exams is to pick genuine candidates for engineering.

The JEE Main exam is for admissions into National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The second is JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced exam is for admissions into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is conducted by the IITs. The students who obtain marks greater than the JEE Main cut-off marks are eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced examination.

Basically, JEE MAINS is somewhat easier, anyone with some memorizing power and a little bit of concept clarity can crack JEE mains.

But many engineering colleges wanted to take care of their quality and standards and believed that JEE doesn’t create the proper quite metrics to select the genuine candidates. so that they decided to use their own examination namely JEE Advanced to admit students to undergraduate programs. JEE gives admission to the elite and prestigious engineering colleges of India named NIT and IIT.

Once the exam is successfully conducted, candidates qualifying for this exam will participate in JEE Main counselling, through which they’re going to get seats in their desired college.

The JEE mains score is that the sum-total of your total obtained marks in Physics-Chemistry-Maths and is out of 360.

The JEE Mains Rank is that the Orderly arrangement of scholars based upon their JEE mains Score and therefore the score relativity. for instance, if two students got an equivalent JEE mains score of 117, then the one who scored more marks in Maths will be given priority, then Physics then Chemistry.

More than this it’s a matter of social pride that you simply are studying in IIT or NIT. You become an area celebrity if you’ve got cleared JEE with an honest rank.

There are total 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

Some of the top engineering colleges that accept JEE main score as a major point of selection :

  1. Amity School of Engineering, Noida
  2. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
  3. Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad
  4. Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi
  5. Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad
  6. Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad
  7. Delhi Technological University, Delhi
  8. International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore

and many more.

10 Things to do when you have an exam and you haven’t prepared yet..

Things to do when you have an exam, and you have not prepared until the last moment

  1. The first and the most important thing to do is to give up on your pleasures and enjoyment.now that we have less time for preparation we need to eliminate the free time. Last-minute preparation is not a good thing to practice, anyhow when we have no other choice we need to give all our 100 % effort into the preparation.

  2. You should have a proper timetable and set your schedule.  Upon planning, a student must be ready to sacrifice all the other pleasures. Plan your timetable in such a way that you divide the time left most effectively. Analyse the subjects you need more time in, give priorities to those subjects. Distribute the whole day into parts and study the subjects in the stipulated time.

  3. Do not procrastinate, keep pushing yourself and don’t skip the timetable you have made and abide by it. As we are preparing at the last moment there isn’t even thought of procrastination as the time in our hand is already less. While preparing, make sure that when you finish a topic, you are already thorough with it. Because we won’t have enough time to come back and finish the same portions.

  4. Set clear goals and deadlines and follow them with utmost faith. Push yourself to the highest limit you can. Divide the time left into two parts one for the thorough preparations and the other for revision. Revision is very important as a student gets to know which area he needs to be more careful about in revisions. As we won’t, have much time for mock tests and self-assessment make sure you keep testing yourself as you finish the portions..
  5. Stop postponing things and follow the timetable.
  1. Get yourself materials that’ll help you understand the concept easily in a shorter span of time. Keeping in mind the very less time available with us, we need to find the materials that will make it easier for us to study. Studying complex materials would take more time to understand and analyse. Find the book that would help your level of understanding and stick to them.

  2. Do not get yourself any distraction, whenever you feel like being pulled towards something, remind yourself about your dream. All your distraction would cost you your goal. If you feel like something would distract you or won’t let you concentrate on your last-minute preparation, stay away from it. Put all your mind and time into the preparation you won’t have the space for distractions.

  3. avoid peer pressure. Stop comparing yourself with your friends. Do not ask your friends how much of the portions they have completed and put yourself down. Every student has his own pace. Don’t doubt yourself by seeing your friends.this is the time to concentrate on yourself and not others. Cut unnecessary communication with others. Approach either your staff or online classes to clear your doubt.

  4. prepare from last year question papers. Most of the times, preparing from previous year question papers would give you an idea of the pattern of questions. Hence you can be able to figure which portion to provide more priority. The chances of the same questions repeating are higher too. Thus It may be helpful. Study the question papers and learn the methods in which the question has been solved, even if the same question isn’t asked, the technique to solve maybe same, which may help you in solving the problem. Don’t underestimate any topic.cover all the topics even if it doesn’t have high weightage in the question paper.

  5. Revision is the essential thing in last-minute preparation. Last-minute preparation is squeezing the whole syllabus is a short span of time. Hence refreshing what he has studied is very important. Revision is the place to test your memory and find out the places you still need to refresh. Revision is not studying, so do not keep any portion for studying in the last moment. Revision is for building confidence in yourself. Make at least 3 revisions and test yourself in all the parts of the portions. If you feel like you like in any topic, make yourself thorough in the topic immediately. Make sure when you complete your last revision you are confident enough to be able to solve any question that is given to you.

Most importantly, do not stress yourself. Because if you lose your calm, all the 10 points listed above will go waste. Keep your mind at peace to concentrate more.

Goal setting can be used as a strategy to help aspirants bring positive changes into their lives. In order to implement the setting of a goal, make sure to ask ourselves some questions: What is my goal? Is my goal realistic? How much effort has to be put in to fulfill my goal? Plan for the week in advance and figure out chapters that you need to prepare from the beginning.

We are humans and not machines. So, we require timely rest as, after all, even machines need some rest to get back to working efficiently. Hence, it is essential to realize that one can’t maintain an optimum level of concentration without taking an optimum break to recover. But beware that you don’t bring the breaks on a higher priority than studies. Breaks can be in the form of a ten-minute walk, a trip to the gym, having a chat with a friend or simply taking small naps.

There are many people who study by highlighting in the textbooks and making notes with a pen on a scrap of paper. These methods still find their place and importance, but there are countless options for personalising study than ever before. Be it through online tools, social media, blogs, videos or mobile apps, learning has become easy, interesting and user-centered today. If you wish to try a new learning technology, then Venper  is a great place to learn.

Many candidates have the tendency of taking the guesswork route for solving questions they don’t know. However, it might prove risky in this case as there is negative marking for a wrong answer. It is recommended to leave a question completely if you do not know the right answer. This is one of the most important tips to Crack NEET 2020 that anyone can give!

Your attitude decides the effectiveness of the learning process. If you possess a negative approach and keep saying that you can’t do it, then this won’t commit to the idea of learning. A right frame of mind also makes you feel less anxious and more open to new ideas.
